Hello! I’m Michaela (Mish-ay-la), a bay area -based textile artist and designer.  My passion is designing and constructing one of a kind wall hangings and other projects. I mainly work with fabric, utilizing a variety of quilting techniques. My background is in costume and textile design. I enjoy putting a modern twist on past concepts.

I was born in Germany, grew up in Sacramento, CA, and after college I spent a few years in New York City as a fashion designer, but ultimately returned to San Francisco where I currently reside with my husband, son, and two Siberian cats.

When I'm not creating I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our cats, riding bikes through Golden Gate park and dining out with friends. I also work part-time as a  speech language pathologist in the medical field, providing therapy to the geriatric population with swallowing and cognition disorders.
